At a young age, I wanted a “nice” camera! Up until college I would go around with my Sony Cyber Shot capturing anything that I could! I finally convinced my parents to invest in camera by enrolling in a photography course at High Point University. Throughout this course, I began to learn the ins and outs of photography and working around a more complex camera…and I’ve lever looked back since. On my “free” time you can find me capturing newborn photos, senior photos and family photos. I particularly love capturing my niece and nephews! Which brings me to the next fact about me…
I love children!
Growing up, I was a magnet towards children. Whether it was during vacation bible school at church, sports camp at St. Pius X Catholic School, or being a nanny during the summer, I have always loved kids! I think it’s because being the youngest of three children, I always wanted a younger sibling. In the past couple of years, the good Lord has blessed me with the most precious niece and nephews. I may be a little bit biased, but they are the cutest! Tyler and I definitely pray to have kids in our future but in the mean time we get to love on these precious babies!!
I love to travel!
I hope to have traveled to all 50 states by the time I’m no longer able to! Growing up, my grandparents traveled to all of the states and I can distinctly remember recieving the photo that they took at their 50th. I still have it to this day and plan on taking a picture with it come time for my 50th state. I have also always dreamed of going ANYWHERE in Europe…but more specifically, Paris! This past August, my now Uncle-In-Law, gifted Tyler and I with a surprise trip to Paris. It really was a dream come true and so much better than I could have ever imagined! Basically, buy me a plane ticket and I will be there!!
We live in a fixer upper!
In February of 2018 we transformed my parents old rental house into our home. With the help of my amazingly, wonderful, talented parents, family and Tyler of course…we were all able to transform my Pinterest board titled, Rental House Renovations, into real life! In the beginning, we documented the process but unfortunately got super busy with wedding planning and wedding videos that videos for the house got pushed aside but you can still bing watch a few episodes! (just click on the photo) Including, demo day!
I LOVE to Garden!
Growing up, my Nana and Pop were both gardeners in their own way. My Pop would start seedlings in his homemade green house and would harvest anything from pumpkins, watermelon, corn, cabbage, and even peanuts one time! My Nana, from what I remember, kept it pretty simple and stuck to the basic grape and cherry tomatoes but those were actually my favorite!! I don’t remember too much of my Nana because she passed away when I was five years old but believe it or not, I do remember going over to Nana and Papa D’s house with my mom and when they were in season, my Nana would greet me with a gallon size zip lock bag full of those sweet, juicy, tiny tomatoes and I would make my way over to their swing and just sit there and snack on the tomatoes that were fresh out of the garden! I’m pretty sure a few still had some dirt on them but I didn’t care! This past spring, I will never forget the feeling of coming home from church to check on the garden to find my very first grape tomatoes from my very own garden. This hobby has become such a joy to me and I am already making plans for a bigger and better garden this coming season!
